1. Introduction

Code Nation (\"we\", \"us\", or \"our\") operates the Code Nation website and LMS platform (collectively, the \"Platform\"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our Platform.

By using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of the Platform.

Information collected automatically:

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account on the Platform
  • To process program applications and enrolments
  • To process payments and issue receipts via Paystack
  • To track your learning progress and generate outcome analytics
  • To communicate with you about your applications, enrolments, and platform updates
  • To provide institutional partners with aggregated, anonymised cohort performance data

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with:

  • Paystack: For payment processing. Paystack\'s privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.
  • Cloudinary: For file storage (CV uploads, profile images). Files are stored securely on Cloudinary\'s servers.

  • Legal authorities: Where required by applicable law or court order.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@codenation.ng. We may retain certain records as required by law.

6. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Passwords hashed using bcrypt with a minimum cost factor of 12
  • Authentication via signed JWT tokens with a 7-day expiry
  • HTTPS enforced across all Platform endpoints
  • Paystack webhook verification using HMAC-SHA512 signature validation

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@codenation.ng. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

The Platform is not directed at children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 16 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Platform or by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
